Nottingham and the East Midlands
4-day Incentive Itinerary Suggestion
Day One
On arrival into East Midlands Airport you will be met and escorted to the city of Nottingham. Situated in the centre of England, Nottingham is the capital of the East Midlands and has a mixture of rich heritage, great shopping and vibrant nightlife. Your accommodation is the beautiful Lace Market Hotel, a former Georgian Townhouse situated in the trendy and vibrant Lace Market area of Nottingham.
The afternoon is a guided walking tour of Nottingham’s ‘Nooks and Crannies’ taking in the famous Nottingham Castle. Originally built by William the Conqueror in 1067, nearly 600 years’ later Charles I raises his standard outside the Castle walls, here beginning the civil war. During the tour you will also visit the oldest Inn in England, The Old Trip to Jerusalem.
Dinner is at the award winning Hart’s restaurant in their private dining room, exquisite food and fine wine is followed by a show in a private suite at the Trent FM Arena. (dates would determine shows available).
Overnight stay is at the Lace Market Hotel Nottingham but, the contempory Harts Hotel or The Nottingham Belfray are an alternative city centre stay. The 4* historic Georgian country house Colwick Hall Hotel, Thoresby Hall, and Makeney Hall are just outside of Nottingham and are ideal if you want to enjoy the scenic countryside.
Day Two
After breakfast travel to Prestwold Hall in Leicestershire, a county famed for its local produce food, Stilton cheese and Melton Mowbray Pork Pies being two of the most famous. Awaiting you is the ultimate track day experience with four of the world’s most desirable supercars, a Porsche 997, Ferrari 430, Aston Martin and Lamborghini Gallardo. After your introduction and safety briefing you will have a three lap demonstration of the circuit with a qualified and experienced racing instructor, and then it’s your turn to drive these supercars. After lunch you try your hand on the handling course in a group N rally car before getting back into the supercars. The day concludes with a high speed passenger ride, assessment from your instructor and driver of the day award presentation.
Returning to Nottingham, dinner tonight is at World Service restaurant, winner of ‘Best overall Restaurant’ in Nottingham’s restaurant awards, for four out of the last five years.
Overnight stay is at the Lace Market Hotel.
Day Three
After breakfast and checking out of the hotel you make your way to Sherwood Forest, home of the famed outlaw Robin Hoodand a former Royal Hunting Forest. See the famous Major Oak reputed to be the meeting place of Robin Hood and his merry men.
Its then off to Breadsall Priory, a Marriott hotel and country club, situated on the edge of the Peak District in Derbyshire. The Peak District National Park, established in 1951 was Britain’s first national park and is one of the most beautiful natural spaces in Europe. Here you can relax in the spa or play a few holes on the championship golf course and dine in the AA rosette Priory Restaurant.
Day Four
After breakfast we spend the morning at Chatsworth House. The home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire is set in the magnificent landscape of Derbyshire’s Peak District National Park, and is seen in the recently released film of ‘Pride and Prejudice’.
Lunch is taken in the 18th century Cavendish roomswhich offers a relaxing and quintessentially English dining experience.
After lunch it’s time to say goodbye and head back to the airport.
