London has the perfect location, from purpose-built conference centres to prestigious academic venues, museums, Royal palaces, theatres, art galleries and many more.

With the launch of the first International Convention Centre (ICC) at ExCeL
London (opened in June 2010) the UK’s capital can now accommodate up to 30,000 delegates for a conference or equally for a large-scale banquet or event.

Further major convention centres include the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre and the adjacent Central Hall Westminster in the iconic surroundings of Big Ben and The Merlin Entertainments London Eye. The Barbican is
Europe's largest arts and conference centre, situated in the heart of London's financial district.

London also has an outstanding range of convention hotels which are able to offer award-winning accommodation with meeting and conference space all on the same site. Convention hotels include the brand new Park Plaza Westminster Bridge which boasts one of London’s most stunning views, the Hilton London Metropole which is London’s largest hotel, and the popularNovotel London West which has quick access to London Heathrow airport.

London is capable of meeting all requirements and budgets. The city currently boasts in excess of 100,000 bedrooms, as well as an additional 17,000 university beds. This portfolio is set to grow with an additional 23,000 rooms planned by 2012.

London is one of the only UK cities to also have a city-wide Accommodation Charter especially for large groups and congresses. It has been developed to simplify the process of sourcing London hotel rooms for events that require 1,000 beds or more.

Getting here

London is one of the most accessible cities on the planet. The city is served by five international airports and welcomes direct inbound flights from 300 destinations worldwide.

For a carbon neutral option Eurostar offers frequent direct services from Paris and Brussels, meaning you can get to London from the continent in just under 2 hours (from Brussels).

Comprehensive rail and road links facilitate your journey to
London, once in the UK, and with one of the best internal transport links in Europe (270 Tube stations, 21,000 licensed taxis), travelling around the capital is simple and easy. One of the key ways to travel for delegates is to use the Oyster travel card– which is a smart card that allows you to travel on Tube, bus and river boat to see the whole city.
